A Letter From My Hearth —
The Birth of Serenity Healing Apothecary
Tonight, under the soft glow of candlelight, with the scent of chamomile drifting through my tiny kitchen apothecary, I finally allowed myself to feel the fullness of this moment. Serenity Healing Apothecary — this dream I’ve carried since childhood — is no longer just an idea whispered to the wind or tucked away inside notebooks and memories. It is real. It is alive. And it is ready to meet the world.
As I write this, jars of cooling herbal infusions line my counter, bath teas steep in mason jars, and glass bottles of milk bath wait to be sealed. Each one carries intention, memory, and the quiet hum of something sacred.
And so, like my mother before me, and her mother before her… I write it down. I honor it. I speak life into the journey.
🌙 Where Serenity Began
I grew up watching women work with their hands — stirring, mixing, healing. My mother was spiritually gifted, though she never called it anything special. People came to her for readings, comfort, clarity. I didn’t realize until later how much of her grace had shaped me.
I remember the stories she told me:
of her grandfather, the Taino chief…
of the feathered headdress hidden in the loft…
of the roots we never fully knew, but always felt.
When she passed, I was young — too young to ask the questions I wish I had. Too young to understand that she was leaving me a legacy to uncover on my own. I didn’t inherit her headdress, but I inherited her intuition… her hands… her desire to help people feel seen, soothed, and loved.
And that is where Serenity Healing Apothecary truly began.
🍃 A Dream Years in the Making
For years, life got loud — jobs, bills, responsibilities, grief, healing — but the dream never left. It whispered to me every time I mixed herbs into warm water, every time I lit a candle, every time I took a bath to soothe my spirit after a heavy day.
One day, it said.
You’ll make this for others. You’ll help them feel what you feel.
Now, that day is here.
Every product I create — from our Oat Milk Bath to our Herbal Tea Baths, from our Peppermint Scrubs to our Evergreen Forest Candle — is made with the same intention I give to my own family:
✨ To soothe.
✨ To nourish.
✨ To restore.
✨ To remind you that you deserve to be cared for.
Handmade with purpose.
Stirred with slow, steady gentleness.
Wrapped like a gift, because to me, you are one.
🔥 The Ritual of Crafting
People often tell me: “Your products feel different.”
And maybe they do — because for me, crafting is ritual.
I measure slowly.
I mix with gratitude.
I add herbs like chamomile, calendula, lemon balm, eucalyptus — not just for their benefits, but for the way they make the room smell like the home I always wanted.
I choose gentle scents because the world is already loud.
I choose botanicals because nature has always known how to heal us.
I choose handmade because intention can’t be mass-produced.
This is not just skincare.
It’s not just bath soaks.
It’s not just candles.
It is an offering.
🌺 Honoring Heritage, Healing Forward
I’ve spent years reconnecting with the parts of my heritage that were never fully explained to me. I learned what I could about the Taino people — about their reverence for nature, their connection to the earth, their healing traditions passed down hand to hand.
I don’t claim to know it all.
But I honor what I do know.
I honor what I feel.
And I bring that respect into every ritual bath, every herbal blend, every candle flame that flickers softly in your home.
This apothecary is not just a business — it’s a bridge between the past and the future. Between the ancestors I never got to meet and the people I hope to soothe. Between what was lost… and what can now be created.
